i hope they call me on a mission...oh, they have!

well, it has been too long since i wrote last. a lot has happened in these past few weeks since school got out. because school has gotten out, friends have been leaving on their missions. kasper and landon are gone...our 4ordained is down to "two righteous". we were thinking of doing firesides without them, but we realized that it just wouldn't be the same. well, i have gotten my mission call since school got out and i'm going to california ventura speaking english and i leave july 8th! i am so excited to go on a mission! i have been waiting for 19 plus years to go! it has been a mix of emotions as eveyone's lives are changing, including mine! well since i don't leave for another 33 days, i have a little bit of spare time...and to fill up my spare time, i've been attending 6 institute classes at the U, working for my neighbor building a cinderblock/cement wall (a lot more work than you might think), and starting this next week, running sports camps with rob! so i'm keeping pretty busy as the days go by.

as i am writing this post, i am sitting at a table in enterprise, utah! for those who don't know where it is (which is probably most of you), it is halfway between cedar city and st. george in the middle of no where. but funnily enough, in the middle of no where, there is a lot of fun to be found! in the past 24 hours i have been 4 wheeling and i ate at the pizza factory in st. george and i have played the guitar and i have relaxed! of course, when i get back to centerville i'm going to have to be shot back into reality and back into working hard everyday...yippee, i can't wait...! welp, i think this should be adequate for now.

oh, on a more serious note, i have been helping out rob allen and ryan larsen lay some sod at rob's house and i was trying to pick up a shovel by tapping it with my foot and letting it fly up and catch it but...the 4th time i tried it, i hit it too hard and it smacked me in the head--my face, right next to my eye!! ryan and rob were laughing their heads off. i hate when fate has that planned for me. rule of thumb: don't do anything you only see in the movies cause it can happen in real life. ouch. :(

the "post-it" post

so i had to write a paper for my intro to physical therapy class which was due today. and ironically enough, my father sold my laptop this weekend. hmm...how convenient. so my next door neighbor, kind angie macfarlane let me use her computer...but of course i didn't actually get to writing my paper until about 12:30 am.

and so i started writing my paper in their room. by this time, ashley, her roommate, went to bed while i was still writing. after a little while, angie came back into her room and i was still working on my paper. i told her we should prank ashley by putting up post-it notes all over her side of the room so that when she woke up, she would be startled. we started writing some notes, but then angie said she had to go to bed because she had a 7:30 class in the morning. eventually, angie started getting ready for bed and it was about 1:30 when she was finally asleep.

and so, this may sound creepy, but i was in their room writing my paper on the laptop till about 2:30. once i finished, i decided to do the work that angie couldn't complete and pay her back for her lack of effort. :)

i wrote nearly 90 post-it notes and placed them all on their desks. i had the random-est comments on them. if you care to know what some of them are, feel free to ask angie and ashley! but i must say, it required constant creativity. and constantly creative i was! it was quite funny actually! and then i had to print my paper and both of the girls stirred when it beeped way loudly. angie even woke up and looked at me, thank goodness she didn't see the post-it notes! anyway, then i took pictures of the post-it notes and even of the funny looking sleepers. it actually woke up angie when the camera flashed in her face and she said, "hey..." i then responded with a "goodnight" and i went home to go to sleep.

good times past midnight in the snow residency hall.

human anatomy...what?!

so yesterday, i stayed up until 4 flippin' o'clock. it was pretty much a crappy and unworthy stay up.

for the past 3 weeks now, i haven't gone to my human anatomy class. i have not gone to class because i have been focusing on preparing for my lds mission a lot. i realized i need to create an equal balance, study for school and the gospel! anyway, so i hadn't even studied for the test until yesterday...sunday. the day before the test. anyway, so it was approaching 4 o'clock and i still had 29 pages to study. ugh! at least i understood the first 29 pages, right? wrong. i got 59%, just on the multiple choice! at least we get to drop one test of the semester. pretty sure this is the one!

so i came back from my test at 9:30 and went back to bed till 2:15. i think i am the apitome of a bad college student. tisk tisk. well, if anyone cares at all about my failure, feel free to comment and mourn with me on my terrible, terrible loss...

Just some normal Saturday fun.

Well, the day started off with me waking up at noon. My mother, brother and I then went to Provo for my cousin, Calvin's farewell type dealio. He is going on a mission to London, England! And he is speaking the last language I would have thought someone in London would speak--Mandarin Chinese! Crazy, I know. Anyway, were were there and we were having a jolly good time eating food and talking. Then we started playing the Wii. My aunt decided she was going to try a balancing game on the Wii. (See video) Anyway, it was hilarious! We all looked so funny trying to keep our balance! After we said our farewells, we came home. I was just sitting here wondering what I should do when my best friend, Rob, called me. He was coming to pick me up. So we went down by Smoot Park and he got out a little contraption he made. It was a wake boarding rope--only it wasn't for wakeboarding. It was for longboarding! So we tied it to the back of his car and he got on the longboard. We went back and forth in front of Lacey Essig's home for about 20 minutes. After our last run, we were ready to turn around and go again when who should pull up but a copper!! He beckoned us to come to him. Once we had approached his car, he said, "You guys can imagine how illegal it must be to be pulled by a rope on a skateboard. I can ticket you for that you know. Don't let me catch you doing it again." All the while, we were looking like little three year olds being chastized by our mother. Haha not really, but it was still pretty funny. Anyway, then we went to talk to Lacey for a minute. When we were leaving, there was another cop sitting in the lower parking lot of Smoot Park. It was pretty funny, and as we drove by, I waved at him. Anyway, that was pretty much the exciting part of my day. Then we went back to Rob's house and watched a movie. Partay! Well, time for bed, ciao!

First post!

Well, today is Friday, April 10th, 2009, and I have yet again spent my day at home doing nothing. I don't really know what I'm going to do with this blog considering I already keep my own personal journal. I don't really have any freakishly amazing pictures like my brother, Jordan has. So I guess this blog is really pointless really. I don't know how often I'll keep it updated either. Anyway, now that you know my aim for this page, I guess I could start studying for my Human Anatomy test on Monday next week, but I am not feeling it. I think I'll start sometime soon though. I should probably start packing to go home this weekend too. But I don't really feel like doing that either. So, as you can probably tell, I am really motivated and on top of things. I really have no desire to do anything but just be out on my mission. That's right, I should get my mission call within the next few weeks! I'll keep you updated. Anyway, I think I'll clean my room now and start to get ready to go home. Thanks for toughing out my first blog...
